Translation & notary service — please note

अनुवाद तथा नोटरी सेवा — अनुरोध

To keep the service fast, accurate and easy, clients are kindly requested to note the following.

  1. As far as possible, come in person with the original documents — showing documents by photo or Messenger is not accepted.
  2. Confirm in advance which documents are to be translated and whether the notary seal goes on the Nepali copy. For passports, bank statements and similar documents, confirm which pages need photocopying — photocopies are best made at this office.
  3. Separate documents needing translation from those needing notarisation only, and hand them in at the respective counter.
  4. After typing, a rough copy is provided so you can check names, surnames, addresses, numbers and dates — the final print is made only after you have checked and confirmed it.
  5. Corrections required after the final print carry an additional fee.
  6. If names, surnames, addresses or dates differ between documents, a verification letter from the ward office or District Administration Office stating they refer to the same person is required.
  7. For many documents, it is best to check the rough copy and take the final print the next day; a small number of documents can be completed the same day.
  8. For further documents within 3 months of registration, quote your earlier registration number — always keep note of your computer number and registration number.
  9. Pasting photos or adding thumbprints/signatures on notarised documents, or making cuttings and alterations on government documents, is illegal.
  10. No queue is needed for final prints, short single-document translations, photocopies or contract certification; however, the person concerned must be present when the final print is made.
